Dr. Lauren Vredenburg
Owner, Calgary Fine Dentistry

Dr. Lauren Vredenburg believes dentistry is about much more than treating individual teeth — it’s about understanding the whole person. Her approach focuses on identifying the underlying causes behind oral health concerns and helping patients achieve long-term health, comfort, and function through comprehensive, individualized care.

Dr. Vredenburg completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from McGill University. She then completed a postgraduate residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) at UCLA, where she received advanced training in comprehensive treatment planning and complex dental care.

Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Vredenburg has pursued extensive continuing education through leading institutions including The Pankey Institute and Spear Education. She has a particular interest in occlusion, airway and TMJ-related concerns, and understanding how oral health connects to overall health and wellbeing.

One of the most rewarding aspects of dentistry for Dr. Vredenburg is caring for multiple generations of families. She enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and recognizing patterns in oral health that can help guide preventative and personalized care.

A proud Calgary native, Dr. Lauren Vredenburg brings a deeply active and adventurous spirit to her dental practice. When she is not caring for patients at Calgary Fine Dentistry, she channels her passion for adventure into running marathons in Alberta and BC, completing a 100-mile cycling race, and canoeing the Mackenzie River to the Arctic Ocean. Today, she spends her well-earned downtime camping, hiking, and skiing in the Rockies with her husband and two young children.
At Calgary Fine Dentistry you can expect an exceptional, unhurried dental experience where your dental health is taken care of with your overall comfort and wellbeing in mind.

Sue

Practice Manager

Sue joined the team at Calgary Fine Dentistry in 2018 after being a patient of the practice for more than ten years! Sue brings over 30 years of dental field experience to the table making her knowledge and expertise such an asset to our practice.

When it comes to navigating the city, Sue’s your go-to person. She knows the best restaurants and pubs in town, and you can often find her cheering on the Stampeders with her friends. When she’s not at work, Sue spends her time with family and grandson, making every day a new adventure.

What truly sets Sue apart is her love for our relationships with our patients. When you visit our office, you’re not just another patient, you are part of the Calgary Fine Dentistry Family community, and Sue is there to make you feel right at home.

Michelle

Office Administrator

Although originally from Penticton, Michelle made her way east and settled in Airdrie, where she lives with her husband, two kids, and a lively crew of pets. She graduated from dental assisting in 2019 and soon after joined the team at Calgary Fine Dentistry, where she now serves as our dental administrator.

Outside of the office, Michelle enjoys staying busy with home improvement projects and spending time outdoors — especially with her dogs near a body of water whenever she can. She also loves heading back to the Okanagan to soak up the sunshine and beautiful weather.

Carter

Dental Assistant

Originally from Toronto, Carter eventually made her way west and settled in Alberta, where she’s grateful to have her sister and nephews nearby. She first discovered the dental field while working in an office in Canmore, which inspired her to pursue a career in dental assisting.

Calgary has since become home, and she’s come to love its beautiful “backyard” and access to the outdoors. As the seasons change, so does Carter’s footwear — from hiking boots to skis, she’s always ready to take advantage of everything Alberta has to offer. This fall, she is also looking forward to an especially meaningful milestone as she gets married at her family cottage.

Jess

Dental Assistant & Treatment Coordinator

Jess grew up in a small town in Quebec before relocating to Alberta with her family in 2005. After graduating from SAIT in 2017, she joined our team and has been an integral part of the office ever since.

Known for wearing many hats, Jess is our resident music curator, social media guru, and unofficial plant specialist — somehow keeping more than 20 office plants thriving. Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, live music, and staying active as a runner, hiker, and cyclist. She also loves spending time with her husband and her two nieces.

Lori

Dental Hygienist

Originally from Winnipeg, Lori’s journey in dental hygiene began back in the late ’80s when she graduated from University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. After graduation, she travelled west and settled in Calgary where she raised two sons. In the 90’s, Lori had the pleasure of working at DQS dental care with Dr. Maguire (founder of Calgary Fine Dentistry and Dr. V’s mother), and even cleaned Dr. V’s teeth for several years when she was a child (thank you Lori for ensuring Dr.V’s career in Dentistry). She often comes across patients in our practice that she had seen back in the day at DQS!

When she’s not working, you’ll find Lori exploring in the mountains, curled up with a good book, or on a plane back to Winnipeg to spend time with family.

Joni

Dental Hygienist

Originally from Grande Prairie, Joni spent her childhood riding horses. She graduated as a dental assistant from SAIT in 2016 Dentistry, but ultimately decided to go back to school to pursue dental hygiene, studying in Toronto and rejoined our team as a hygienist!

Joni and her husband now live on an acreage northwest of Calgary, where life is anything but quiet. Their home is shared with a growing collection of animals — including dogs, cats, ducks, and chickens — including bringing Joni’s beloved horses down from Grande Prairie to join their new adventure.

Kim

Dental Hygienist

Kim grew up in New Brunswick and graduated from Dalhousie University in 1997 with a diploma in dental hygiene. She joined the team at Calgary Fine Dentistry in 2021 and brings years of experience along with a warm, patient-focused approach to care.

Outside of the office, Kim leads a busy and full family life, spending much of her time supporting her two junior high-aged children in their many sports and activities — often acting as chauffeur, coach, and biggest cheerleader. It’s also an especially exciting time for Kim as she is getting married in Greece this summer, surrounded by family and loved ones.
